What is a Transport card?

A Transport card is the official smart card used for public transportation in Abu Dhabi. It allows you to pay for bus fares throughout the city without needing cash. The card uses contactless technology - simply tap it on the reader when boarding.

Transport cards come in different types:

  • Standard Card: For regular residents and visitors
  • Student Card: Discounted fares for students
  • Senior Card: Discounted fares for senior citizens
  • Tourist Card: Short-term cards for visitors
Do I need to register to use your reload service?

No, registration is not required to reload your Transport card through our service. You can complete a one-time reload without creating an account.

However, creating an account offers several benefits:

  • Save your card details for faster future reloads
  • View your transaction history
  • Set up automatic reloads when your balance is low
  • Receive email receipts and confirmations

Registration is free and takes just a minute to complete.

How long does it take for my card to be reloaded?

Your Transport card will be reloaded instantly after your payment is confirmed. The system updates in real-time, allowing you to use your card immediately after the reload transaction is complete.

In rare cases where there might be network delays, it could take up to 10 minutes for the reload to reflect on your card. If your card hasn't been reloaded after 10 minutes, please contact our customer support.

What are the minimum and maximum reload amounts?

The minimum reload amount for a Transport card through our service is 10 AED, and the maximum amount is 500 AED per transaction.

If you need to reload more than 500 AED, you can make multiple transactions. There is no daily limit on the number of reload transactions you can make.

Can I reload multiple cards in one transaction?

No, each reload transaction can only be applied to one card. If you need to reload multiple cards, you will need to complete separate transactions for each card.

However, if you create an account, you can save multiple cards to your profile for easier management and faster reloading in the future.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept a variety of payment methods to make reloading your Transport card as convenient as possible:

  • Credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express)
  • Debit cards
  • Apple Pay
  • Google Pay
  • Samsung Pay

All payment processing is secure and complies with PCI DSS standards to ensure your payment information is protected.

Are there any fees for using your reload service?

No, there are no additional fees for using our Transport card reload service. The amount you select to reload is the exact amount that will be charged to your payment method.

We do not charge any service fees, convenience fees, or processing fees. The full amount you pay goes directly to your card balance.

Is my payment information secure?

Yes, we take the security of your payment information very seriously. Our payment processing system uses industry-standard encryption and security measures:

  • All transactions are processed through PCI DSS compliant payment gateways
  • We use SSL encryption for all data transmission
  • We do not store your complete credit card information on our servers
  • Our systems are regularly audited for security compliance

For additional security, we implement 3D Secure verification for credit card transactions where available.

What should I do if my payment was processed but my card wasn't reloaded?

If your payment was processed successfully but your Transport card was not reloaded, please follow these steps:

  1. Wait for 10 minutes in case there's a slight delay in processing
  2. Check your email for a transaction confirmation
  3. Verify your card balance at a kiosk or through our app
  4. If the reload still hasn't been applied, contact our customer support with the following information:
    • Transaction reference number (found in your email confirmation)
    • Date and time of the transaction
    • Transport card number
    • Amount paid

Our team will investigate the issue and resolve it as quickly as possible. If we confirm that your card was not reloaded despite the payment being processed, we will either apply the reload immediately or issue a refund as per your preference.

How can I check my card balance?

There are several ways to check your Transport card balance:

  • Through our website: Log in to your account and view your card details
  • Through our mobile app: Open the app and check the balance section
  • At any Transport card kiosk: Place your card on the reader to display your current balance.
  • On the bus: When you tap your card on the bus reader, your current balance will be displayed
  • At customer service centers: Staff can check your balance for you

For the most up-to-date balance information, we recommend checking after each journey or reload transaction.

What if my card is lost or stolen?

If your Transport card is lost or stolen, you should:

  1. Report it immediately through our website, mobile app, or by calling our customer service
  2. If your card was registered, we can block the card to prevent unauthorized use
  3. For registered cards, the remaining balance can be transferred to a new card (subject to verification)
  4. For unregistered cards, unfortunately, the balance cannot be recovered

This is one of the key benefits of registering your card – it protects your balance in case of loss or theft. We strongly recommend registering your card through our website or app.
